My first thought was that it was a whale sound. I don't know why scientists would be surprised to hear sounds in the ocean, it is teaming with life and lots of creatures make sounds. Still it was cool to listen to it. I agree it doesn't sound like a woman, maybe it is a Mer-person. lol
