Man who froze to death in Siberia was 'thawed out' by doctors

A man who ended up clinically 'dead' after falling asleep in the freezing cold was revived several hours later.

This sounds very much like they used the same technique used for cold water drownings, especially of children. The cold allows the brain to reduce the need for oxygen, so by slowly warming they can sometimes bring these people back from the brink. He's one very lucky man to have survived.
